Bosch China signed a strategic partnership with China's state-owned Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC) on Feb 1, strengthening ties with the leading supplier in the space of smart cockpit, smart driving, and automotive connectivity, according to the Group.
The two companies have long collaborated in the supply of electronic fuel injection system, chassis, smart driving systems, and others. In the future, Bosch will supply more and more high-end automotive solutions for BAIC, including smart cockpit and smart driving solutions as the Chinese public group strives to develop automotive innovations and seeks not only to gain market share in China, but also to export intelligent automotive technologies to other countries, according to the Goup's announcement on Feb 1.
Bosch, on the other hand, is also seeking expansion in China. The company announced previously on Jan 12 that it planned to invest a total of up to CNY7 billion (US$1 billion) over the next few years in China, amplifying its R&D and manufacturing capacities for electric and smart mobility products in the country.
On Jan 12, Bosch's wholly-owned, Suzhou-based subsidiary Bosch Automotive Products Suzhou signed an agreement with Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee (SIPAC) for building new manufacturing facilities for electric vehicle (EV) components and autonomous driving solutions.
The new site, covering 300,000 sqm of land, is scheduled to complete construction by mid-2024, according to Bosch China's announcement on Jan 12.
It will be one of Bosch China's main sites of developing and producing next-generation SiC power module for electric motors, new integrated power brake systems IPB 2.0, smart decoupling brake system, and high-end autonomous driving solutions, according to the company.
